Polynesian Half Steve part 2

My local guy heads off to the army in a week so it’s time to finish his tattoo.  I tried a new composition trying to balance the heavy blacks and the open spaces.  It turned out pretty cool.  I have another large piece next week so I will try to work toward this style again.

Today was the busiest I have ever seen it in the studio.  I did more tattoos in a single day than I normally do in two or three days.  It was amazing, and I am grateful for every single client that came to my studio today for a tattoo.  The clients were from everywhere; some lived here on Maui, some were on vacation and each of them knew exactly what they wanted and trusted me to make all the decisions.

This is my favorite of the day.

Video Game

This is an image from some video game, I am not sure which one.  The client brought me the image, and I love playing video games so hell yes I want to make this tattoo.  Now I just need to find out what game this is from.

Petroglyph Turtle

I made these plumeria tattoos a few years ago.  The client is back on island and wants a petroglyph turtle tattoo off of my flash sheet.  I paint a lot of tattoo flash.  It’s great when a client wants one of my flash pieces because I thought about it as I made it; I planned it out.  This is a simple tattoo, but it was fun.

Add-on Polynesian

This client came back to add on to the fishhook tattoo I did a few years ago.  He will be back, as he wants to open a restaurant here on the island.  I bet he will too.

Two Polynesian Turtles

I made these for two turtles for a couple of guys that want to keep their memories.  Maui really is a special place.  I love making Polynesian turtle tattoos, and I want to make as many as I can.  There are a lot of subjects to tattoo here on Maui; the turtle is by far one of my favorites.  I never tire of it, and I am always pleased to see a turtle in the ocean.

Tribal Shaka and Petroglyph Turtle

Today was insane.  I have reached my goal for the business, and now I will keep working until I am sure that the studio is consistently running smoothly and effectively.  These are my favorite tattoos of the day.  A Polynesian shaka hand and a petroglyph turtle.  I worked a 17 hour day today.  I did so many nice tattoos I couldn’t decide what was my favorite so I picked one of the bigger ones and one banger.
