End of the Year Hibiscus

I seem to be into tattooing feet lately.  This week alone I have done 13 foot tattoos. It is December 31st and for my last tattoo of the year I made a hibiscus plumeria combo.  It was drawn on with a sharpie, which is really fun for a lot of reasons.  It is really fast to draw on and tattoo, and it is accurate to the body.  A stencil can be accurate also, but today I wanted to play with a sharpie.

2014 was pretty good to me and Athena.  Both of our business started to really take off, we built a good reputation, and we had an amazing time on Maui.  Moving here was a risk and it is finally starting to pay off.

Tiki Tattoo

I got to make a cool Tiki tattoo today, and the client was pretty fun to work with.  It made for a nice few hours.  I did several tattoos today but this was my favorite.

Believe it or not I don't get to do Tiki tattoos very often so this was a treat to work on.

I made a quick plumeria tattoo today.  The shop was crazy busy today, and this is my favorite tattoo of the day.  I like working with Hawaiian flowers.

Had a couple of walk-in banger tattoos today.  I drew this matchstick tattoo on with a sharpie.  It was a slow day today, but thats okay as I was able to catch up on some painting ideas.

Just a quick fishhook tattoo.  It was a crazy day; I am tired and ready to go home.  I am trying to upload one tattoo a day.  It's hard to find the time so I am doing my best.

Plumeria Tattoo

I probably make 10 or more plumeria tattoos a week.  I dig it.  I like the plumeria flower a lot.  We have a tree in the front yard where we live and I spend a lot of time just starting at it.

Two Palm Tree Tattoos

I look at palm trees every day.  I am still in awe of them every time.  I watch the wind blowing the palm around and just slip into a mental calm.  I love palm trees, and I love Maui.

This was fast and fun.  A hibiscus tattoo I made on the fly out of older ideas I had drawn.  I tattoo a lot of flowers, and I really like doing it.  I would like to do flowers with everything at some point.

I tried to combine this hibiscus tattoo into the outer edge of his existing tattoo.  It was really busy today, so I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to work on this, but it looks great and the client was very happy.

Pipe Plumeria

I don't post a lot lately, as I am way too busy to sit and find a moment these days to blog.  I have started some new composition sketches for an oil painting; but I will talk more about that later.  

I smoke a pipe, I have always smoked a pipe.  I enjoy the calm and slow moment with a pipe.  I got to  tattoo the image of a pipe today.  I also really like the plumeria flower, and I do a lot of plumeria tattoos.  It was pretty cool when my client wanted both together.  

This was fun.

Super Mario Tattoo.

I play video games, a lot.  I grew up playing Nintendo's Super Mario.  We all did for the most part in the western world.  It was a treat to make this.
