This was a fun walk-in today.  November is normally pretty slow in the studio, however this week has been pretty steady.  This was a lot of fun.

Banger Palm Tree

Fun little banger tattoo.  I like sharing these; they are just as important to the client as the back piece is to another client.  A tattooer should take pride and do a good clean job with tiny tattoos.
We must be a craftsman in all we do.

A surfboard leaning on a palm tree.  A fun banger and a walk-in at that.  I surf a lot these days, and I love it more than making art.  If I could, I would just surf all day every day.

Palm Tree Cover-up Tattoo

I will start by saying I did not used to like working on a coverup tattoo.  It is always a challenge, a mess to fix, and the client always has an idea that they are incapable of letting go of, regardless of it being a good or bad idea for a cover-up.  I like the challenge these days, and I find myself working on a lot of old tattoos.  This was fun, it took a couple hours but it was worth it.

This client wanted ghost that disguised itself as a palm tree.  So this is what I came up with.

I look at palm trees every day.  I am still in awe of them every time.  I watch the wind blowing the palm around and just slip into a mental calm.  I love palm trees, and I love Maui.
