This was really fun. The client was here for a Polynesian turtle last year and has returned for some more tribal work. He brought me an image that inspired him.
I took it and drew a new version of his idea.
This client has been back to the shop year after year. He is in his 70’s and has truly dedicated his current life towards rescuing animals in need. He works with an organization called ifaw back home helping rescue sea life. He has been tattooed here by Trevor and myself a few times. His knowledge and research on Haida artwork is amazing. It was truly a pleasure to work with him.
These two tattoos are for their marriage. The sigil “Ha” has an infinite amount of permutations, however I have remained in the safe zone visually for my clients. I look forward to a further abstraction of this sigil.
One of my regular clients is back, he comes back to the shop every year. We added some, and refined some of the existing work. This was really fun, and I am really looking forward to our next session where we will complete this entire piece.
Second session on this leg piece. The first session was a cover-up of a smaller piece and the addition to the calf. The client will be back next year to complete the leg and go above the knee.
