Form studies from 1998

1998 was a year of exploration and experimentation for me.  I was developing my current compositional philosophy, and trying everything I thought of regardless of how strong or weak each concept was.

These are all Cray-Pas oil pastels improvisations that I am sure were completed in an evening.

Thanks for reading...
...more nonsense from my past to come soon.

Eye studies from 1998

In 1998 I went through a short lived phase of placing eye's in my work.  Here are some of the studies that I did back then.  keep in mind, there are about 100 images I have lost.

These are kinda silly...
...I was really into it at the time.

Bowling Alley studies.

For the Bowling Alley series of oil paintings I furthered my study of the Hebrew language, the history of economic politics from the view point of Ludwig Von Mises, and the landscape of Minneapolis.  These drawings are simple and helped me figure out where the paintings were going.

These were okay studies...
...I like simply working from the moment and ink leads to that.

Line composition studies.

I was into the simple line for a time.  I felt that I could design a line that eludes to multiple subjects.
Here are a few of those older illustrations where I was working out that idea.

Thanks for taking a look at these...
...they are simply studies but i turned them all into cool oil paintings.
