It has been a while since I have done a head tattoo. The client wanted Polynesian tribal around his existing tattoo of his wife’s lips. This was really an awesome day.
The client has a very large project in mind. Today we got started with the bolder portion of his work, and on his next session we will fill in the entire deltoid to his chest tattoo. He eventually wants to go all the way down the arm.
My local guy heads off to the army in a week so it’s time to finish his tattoo. I tried a new composition trying to balance the heavy blacks and the open spaces. It turned out pretty cool. I have another large piece next week so I will try to work toward this style again.
This client came back to add on to the fishhook tattoo I did a few years ago. He will be back, as he wants to open a restaurant here on the island. I bet he will too.
I added some Polynesian tribal to the work I did last year. The client wanted to continue the work into next year. It will be nice to complete this when he comes back. I can see us adding on to this tattoo for a long time.
This client came back for a second session to add some forms onto his fishhook he got last year. He is going to be back in a few months to complete the bottom of his leg with me.
I do not get to tattoo a lot of Manta Rays. I like the subject, its just not a common Maui tattoo, and I still don't feel like I have a complete grip of the Manta Ray forms. As a study, this was a fun tattoo.
I normally don't use color in my Polynesian tattoos. The client wanted a light green in the geckos, so I gave it a try. I am not sure if I like color in Polynesian tattoo, but this looks nice. Her idea to have its tongue become the tiny flowers oh her arm was also a bit out of my normal. But it was fun.
